Seven Years, So Much Gratitude

Began working on my new wholesale catalog this week - designing a new cover and making decisions about what goes in, what gets eliminated. I have a very hard time with this because I want to offer many choices, so editing becomes a fine art. I enjoy the process of taking all the business considerations into account, but at the same time being a little kid who wants to share new things, wants to give a gift. Of couse, I see the big picture metaphor in all this. Take some risks, but keep in mind the wisdom I've gained from 7 years of publishing cards. Wow! 7 years. It's just occured to me recently that I've been doing this for 7 years. That's a pretty big deal for me who loves to start things, loves the creative outburst, but not so much the maintenance tasks. Without the amazing gift shops, galleries, book stores and web-site customers around the country it wouldn't be possible.

Below is a remake of one the most popular cards from my original line. In 2004, I contacted a wonderful woman who administers Anais Nin's estate for permission to use this quote.

Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive.   Anais Nin

As I begin my next catalog, I send out loads and loads of gratitude to all of those who have supported me, encouraged me, given me feedback. I still absolutely love what I'm doing. For a little perspective on how I started, read my latest post on the Fearless blog. Although, I leapt and took a risk when I quit my day job, it wasn't always with solid confidence, wasn't always pretty.

I will offer a special on my greeting cards in May, the official 7th annniversary. Golden Flower Studio continues to be my song, a gift from my heart to yours.
