"Discover what you were born to do. Know what makes your heart sing." 5x7 hand-glittered card (blank inside). Click on image to see card on Etsy.
I'm featuring this card today because of an inspiring conversation I had with a friend this morning. We go way back - met when our kids were friends in middle school... our little girls are now 31!
She recently had a huge shift occur in her work life (lost job). It was initially devastating but ultimately she came to a place of surrender and is now living a life she never could have imagined. She's been given the opportunity to spend time with herself and examine some deep stirrings that had gone unheeded. I won't go into details because I don't want to infringe on her privacy. Let's just say she's finding extreme inspiration in her own resilience and in considering possibilities and potential that never would have surfaced if she had insisted on security and predictability. She's discovering new yearnings to express herself in new ways. It's never too late.
I've heard many stories in the last year or so of resilience and innovation being the outcome of unexpected changes and loss. Sometimes the very people who've lost everything find a kind of redemption in surrender and then a rebirth of, and reintroduction to, their potential. I am never more filled with awe as when I see the human spirit rise to potential against all odds.
Your song never fades away - it's just waiting for you to have the presence of mind to hear it. But you don't have to wait for your world to be shaken.... you can listen in anytime.
